How to Propose a New Rotary Member

Greetings Rotarians,

Rotarians are encouraged to bring a new member into the Rotary world at least once in their Rotary career . As you know, the process takes a couple of weeks: you submit your proposal to the club Secretary (that’s Micheal Screen); the Board reviews the new member proposal and approves it for posting; all proposals are posted before the club for seven (7) days which is two meetings (any objection must be due to business and ethical reasons and must be made through the Secretary in writing); and then we schedule and orientation and induction with the proposed member. Proposal forms are available at our meetings as well as online through www.rotary.org. You can also download an electronic new member form in Microsoft Word format, for electronic entry.

A good member is anyone in a business or profession who exemplifies the ideals of Rotary and Service Above Self that lives or works and has a specific interest in our Springfield community.

Possible open classifications: Motel / Hotel Administration, Dentist, Orthodontist, Physician, Real Estate (Residential or Commercial), Property Management, Tire Dealer, Office Equipment Sales/Service, Printers / Copy Services, Electrical Contractor, Plumbing Contractor, Trucking / Delivery Service, Florist, Internet Service Provider, Computer Sales – the list is endless.

This is also the time to seek those first members of the new Rotary year!! Asking them to lunch is great way to share Rotary with friends and business associates.
