ROTARY SHARES!

Springfield Rotary Leadership - Thanks to All

I’d like just to take a moment or two at this juncture of my year as Springfield Rotary president to thank a few club members who are making a real difference in our mission.

First, thank you Bruce Smolnisky.  Thank you for stepping in for me last week, but, more importantly, for leading a great auction effort, and for stepping up to the ultimate leadership role for next year.  We are all here to help make it the best year possible.

I’d like to thank the Springfield Rotary Board for their commitment to meet, plan and carry out actions that make our Club better and stronger.  Thank you all for your time and talent.  It has meant everything to our Club.

Thank you Micheal Screen - the best Club secretary in District 5110 for sure!  Your continuity and Rotary knowledge has been immeasurably important to me (and to all presidents you have work with) and to the Club’s integrity and stature in the larger organization.

Thank you Barry Smith for this always informative newsletter; Rod for the improved website; Grith for being a very engaging and inspiring Youth Exchange student; and to all other Rotarians who have stepped up in one fashion or another this past year.  Nancy Bigley, John Halgren, the Aldens, Tom and Steve - you are the reason we are “A Singing Club” - and all other members whose major and minor contributions have made my year whatever success it has been.

Finally, Liz Degner has been just what you want a past president to be - helpful whenever asked and for whatever reason.  Thanks, Liz.

We have a great Club and a wonderful year in front of us with Bruce Smolnisky.  I will do my best to close it out in good form and with our Board goals largely met or exceeded.
Dan

The Miracle of Rotary

Celebrating Our Colleagues

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
Cicero (106 BC – 43BC)

None of us do it alone.  In today’s workplace, we rely on the diverse contributions made by many others.  On April 23rd, Springfield Rotary will acknowledge all the ways our administrative professionals ‘get it done’ on a daily basis!
The Springfield High School Interact Club will help make the day special, presenting the program and honoring our guests by presenting them with flowers.  They’ll tell us about their recent club activities and last year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.  Expect a surprise guest speaker, too!

You are invited to bring the person or persons you want to honor for their contributions in your office or place of work.

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say and do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?

  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
