LEAVE OF ABSENCE GUIDELINES

LEAVE OF ABSENCE GUIDELINES
Springfield Rotary Club Bylaws – Article 11:
“Upon written application to the board, setting forth good and sufficient cause, leave of absence may be granted excusing a member from attending the meetings of the club for a specified length of time.”
A request for a Leave of Absence must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors. The request form is on our website (http://www.springfieldrotary5110.org).
A Leave of Absence may be granted to members in good standing. The Board defines a “member in good standing” as one who –

  1. Has been a member for at least one calendar year;
  2. Has maintained a 50% attendance record for the past 12 months.

Members may request leaves of two to six months. Long term members who have made a significant contribution to the club may be considered for a longer period.
Note: The Board is committed to keeping members on a leave up to date on club happenings and activities, and will recruit active members to maintain contact with those on leave.
